Many artists speak of capturing energy in their work, and I am no different. My desire to capture energy derives from the first picture I ever took. My Father and I attended automobile races together when I was a youngster, and when I first asked him if I could take a picture with his camera, I was thrilled when he smiled and reached for the case. After carefully getting in position, I focused in on my favorite bright orange car as it circled around. Timing it perfectly, I took a great picture of my hero passing another car. Imagine my surprise when my prized photo showed nothing but a piece of empty race track! It seemed the cars were just too fast for the camera, but when I saw the beautiful images Dad took I realized that I was just a bit too slow. From that point on, I was fascinated with capturing energy....

Litchfield County, and Cornwall in particular, is a very special place to live. The full range of seasons enhances the beauty of the mountains and waterways. Forest trails go on for miles, with wildlife every step of the way. The working farms move from bustling activity to the still of winter and back again, while those farmers that have moved on leave behind the timeless quiet of an empty barn. Small towns and villages have an unmistakable pride, as evident in spectacular Fall Festivals as it is in volunteers manning fire stations in the cold of February. There is a picture perfect postcard around every corner, and I continue my pursuit of capturing that special energy, so I can share it with you....
